White House and Congress target credit card rates

You knew those banks were going to try and get their money from somewhere, right? And you wonder why the "average American" doesn't have any expendable income. I'm all for free market economics, but punishing your customers for the mistakes of others is just not fair.

Chicago parking meters: City Council belatedly questions deal

Check out this website I found at chicagotribune.com

And you wonder why people are so frustrated with government these days . . . Go for the money, and hope that no one notices.

‘The Elements of Style’ Turns 50

One of the first books I ever read as a journalism student 12 years ago. I used that same copy in my master's thesis and as recently as three weeks ago when I wrote an appellate brief for law school. It's as relevant today as it was 50 years ago.

Irony Abound

Sometimes the funniest things are those you just can't make up. I
apologize for how horrible the picture is, but holding my blackberry
in my left hand with my backpack on and my Torts and Contracts texts
in the other arm.

To be or not to be (a morning person)

In all honesty, I like waking up early (provided I get seven hours of sleep). But I can't seem to get to bed early enough. I used run first thing in the morning and it felt great, but lately I simply cannot motivate myself to do it.  What is my problem? I like to wake up early, relax and not rush around before my first class. I need to find a time to get my run too. Do you sense my internal struggle here?

Quick comment about my oral argument yesterday. Ash and I kicked some ass (we thought we weren't prepared, but when you spend months on a certain set of facts . . . you have to know the stuff rather well). I was a bit surprised how much I liked speaking; I always thought I was more of a law review type person, but that certainly might change. We'll see, won't we?

Anywho, I didn't run this morning (big surprise), but we'll try and get one in this afternoon (don't hold your breath). On the menu today--Torts and CivPro!

If this guy's really a lawyer, one can only hope he's disbarred.

I thought this was just too good to not post.

Apparently, I'm wearing a bit "too" much pink.

I wasn't even in the law center but 15 minutes, and in one conversation, I was asked if my wife dressed me and that my pink pocket square made her think of the Easter Bunny. Huh? Add that to the feeling that I have inky-blue bags under my eyes. (Inner dialogue: I really have nothing to say, its either the lack of sleep, stress, or just pure shock that I was compared to the EASTER BUNNY)

I hate finals.

Yeah, I'm starting new . . . what's it to you? The site didn't have a ton of direction (kind of sounds like me at times) so I decided to declare "virtual bankruptcy;" can the content and start anew. I'm up way too late, and I should be getting ready for my oral argument in about 9 hours. Can someone say procrastinate? I'm going to be posting a bunch of randomness, much like the things running around in my crazy head. Strap in folks, its going to be a bumpy ride.
